Psychology Today: Czech Edition (from Anna)
As I Psychology Major, I feel obligated to analyze everything through a psychological scope. For my writing assignment, I would like to do something similar to the popular articles written in Psychology Today. I would be analyzing the characters (and their relationships/interactions with others or dilemmas) in the books we will be reading and applying simple concepts of Social Psychology. For this task I would also like to use various visuals like Miguel and Shemira (scrapbook/comic-like). Here is the website for Psychology Today, of course it won't be as sophisticated as the website but I hope to have a news letter type of format.

Hi all, this comment is addressing the timeline aspect of my assignment. Since this is going to be a news letter, expect one every 10 days (gives me time to work on the writing portion and the graphics). The best way to grade this is like this A: thesis, good grammar, relevant graphics, relevant to the text C: Grammar and syntax is lacking, not an engaging piece, not relevant to the texts F: I didn't do one as scheduled. Too be honest, I am not good at all at coming up with grading rubrics but this was my take on it.

ReplyDeleteI think you did just fine with your evaluation rubric. Since it doesn't seem to me that grammar/usage is any kind of problem for you, let's just leave that aside and focus on engagement, relevance, and timeliness. I'm hoping that it's all A's. Also, please let me know where and in what form this will appear. I got the sense that it would be web-based, and perhaps another blog would work, but certainly you can do something different. The Psychology Today website is of course designed/maintained professionally, so you couldn't be expected to match the "production value."
